An Overview of Steel Industrial Demonstration Activities within the U.S. Department of Energy’s Office of Clean Energy Demonstrations
The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) established the Office of Clean Energy Demonstrations to deliver clean energy demonstration projects at scale in partnership with the private sector to launch/accelerate market adoption and deployment of technologies as part of an equitable transition to a decarbonized energy system. The DOE released a Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) in 2023 to catalyze high-impact, large-scale, transformational advanced industrial facilities to significantly reduce greenhouse gas emissions. This presentation will cover the recently announced steel project selections under this FOA as well as an overview of other DOE programs that provide funding opportunities for the steel industry.
