New Design of Crystallization-Free Mold Fluxes Based on In-Situ Dispersion of Metallic Particles and Mixed Alkali Effect for High-Al Steel Casting
In order to design the mold fluxes for high-Al-containing steels, the present study attempts to propose the countermeasures for regulating total heat flux through mold flux layer by additive metallic iron contents, and for improving glass forming ability by mixed alkali effects. The heat flux through CaO-Al2O3-CaF2-based mold flux system has been studied using an infrared emitter technique in order to investigate the beneficial effect of metallic particles on controllability of radiative mold heat transfer across mold flux film.
