Practical Approach for Fleet Management of Transformers Considering Different Stakeholders’ Perspectives

Transformer operators in industry must optimize overall financial performance by maintaining reliability and extending lifetime at minimal costs. Various diagnostic methodologies exist to assess transformer condition. Most of these methods aggregate the assessment to the highest level in order to provide the information about the transformer condition in the form of a single number (known as a Health Index, HI). However, the index calculation is not transparent. This leads to the fact that a single HI value is impractical for decisions. For this purpose, two indices were developed which are based on the same information available for the condition assessment.
