The Combustion Characteristics of Hydrogen-Rich Fuels Injected Into the Blast Furnace
To inject hydrogen-rich fuels into the blast furnace is one of the future ironmaking operations to reduce the carbon emissions. This study employs a numerical model to investigate the combustion characteristics of hydrogen-rich fuels (CH4, COG, H2) injecting into the raceway. The simulation results, which include the distributions of temperature, pressure drop, velocity, species, etc., will be carried out and compared based on the fuels of the same amount of hydrogen atoms. In addition, the effect of the co-injection with pulverized coal will also be studied. These pieces of information would help with the optimal design and safe operation.
