On-Line Condition Monitoring Systems in the Hoisting and Bridge Traveling Equipment of Cranes in the Iron and Steel Industry

In the event of a malfunction in the casting crane hoist motors and gearboxes, very dangerous situations could occur. Were periodic visual inspections of this equipment sufficient? How possible is it to install condition monitoring systems on moving equipment, especially for equipment operating at different speeds and loads, such as cranes? It is maybe the first and only on-line condition monitoring of cranes. The paper will address in detail how these challenges were overcome.
