Intelligent Oil Film Bearing Monitoring System for Flat Product Rolling Mills

Increased flexibility and mill availability targets often lead operators to push the equipment to its limit, and beyond. Such conditions expose the equipment and the oil film bearings to unpredictable loads, increasing their wear rate and risk of sudden failures. Danieli has patented a system capable of constantly monitoring all operating parameters of the oil film bearings in order to analyze failures, safely adjust the rolling parameters to the real operating capacity of the bearings, and plan in advance proper maintenance activities according to the wear condition of the bearing.
