New Application of Light Section for Rebar Sample Measurement

Measuring the geometric dimensions of rebar is still a challenge today. The first-time use of light section technology for cold sample measurement results in significant added value compared to current methods. This presentation will show how the measurement works with this technology and the advantages that result from it, such as detailed profiles, high-resolution 3D data, real user independency and short measurement times. An integrated device is presented and how it is used in the rolling mill. In particular, the measurement results of rebar and threaded bars are presented, both rolled and straightened.
