Smart Approach to Design a Hybrid/Full Electric Furnace for Galvanizing Line
A wide range of steel grades, emission reduction toward green steel production, final product quality and competitiveness are the key factors that are driving the steel market. Danieli Centro Combustion took up the challenge to support its own customers on such multiplicity of outcomes by designing tailor-made furnace solutions, whose main peculiarities are the combination of gas and electric heating technologies and the on-line control of the heating power distribution, depending on thermal cycle, steel grade, furnace operating condition, production transitory and energy costs. In this paper, a practical approach is shown for the revamping of a galvanizing furnace.
