Improve Energy Efficiency by Defining the Operating Parameters of a Reheating Furnace Using State-of-the-Art Digital Solutions
On a hot rolling line, the rolling pace directly influences furnace productivity. The rolling rate is indirectly related to the residence time in the furnace, impacting the metallic yield and fuel consumption. This work presents the use of a digital tool to define the operational parameters of the reheating furnace, applying operational contexts of the rolling mill with direct potential to reduce energy consumption. Using a digital tool allowed for the continuous management of operating parameters, helping to identify and correct deviations early, and potentially reducing operating and maintenance costs.
