Combined On-Line Flatness, Profile and Wedge Control — Finite Element Simulation-Based Design and Commissioning Results
In modern hot rolling mills, increasing demands are placed on flatness, but also on profile and wedge of the finished strip. With classic concepts, these quality values cannot be set independently of one another. In this paper, a combined level 1 control is presented, which makes it possible to ensure flatness and profile/wedge independently of each other with high performance. A finite element simulation is presented, which enables the design of the control using real system data. The simulation operates hardware-in-the-loop, so that the tests are done with real plant software. Finally, results from a plant are presented.
