NO SHOW: Hot Rolling Optimization of Mini-Mill Scheduling Considering Metalworking Due Dates and Mixsteel Restrictions
This paper presents a framework to schedule a mini-mill, with a multi-objective goal: maximize hot furnace and minimize late schedule. The mini-mill is modeled by a digital twin; in the business layer, several operation constraints are considered such as mixsteel, combining both heuristic and classical algorithms (MILP). This customized solution adheres to the customer's needs, giving a optimized solution for the decision-maker to analyze. It managed to increase hot rolling in a real mini-mill implementation, thus reducing the impact of CO2 emissions and operational costs.
