Automotive Exposed Steel via Direct Casting Rolling Line

QSP-DUE technology allows the production of top-quality automotive grades for exposed and unexposed applications, while providing high, 4.0-Mtpy and beyond productivity thanks to a slab thickness in the range of 140–160 mm. The fully automatic SEN exchange practice during casting grants the production of calcium-free grades as in a conventional slab caster. The mold flow is controlled thanks to a combination of the SEN design and the MM-EMB+s, an electromagnetic device able to brake and stir the liquid steel according to process needs. The mold equipped with flat copper plates enables the production of peritectic grades.
