AI-Driven Temperature Control in Secondary Metallurgy Based on Continuous Temperature Measurement
In order to keep up with the ongoing changes, process control via artificial intelligence (AI)-based models became vital in steelmaking. Proven results give evidence of the practical application held by Smart Steel Technologies’ (SST) Temperature AI and Heraeus Electro-Nite’s advanced temperature measurement CasTemp at Çolakoğlu Metalurji steelmaking plant in Turkey. The SST Temperature AI includes the entire SMP. The AI-driven model is trained with the historical data and takes into account all relevant L1 and L2 signals that have an impact on the steel temperature at the casters, which is measured by CasTemp.
