NO SHOW: Variation of Non-Metallic Inclusions in a Heavy Rail Steel During Solidification and Cooling Process
The distribution of inclusions composition at different position in a heavy rail steel continuous casting bloom was analyzed. The content of MgO, Al2O3, CaO and CaS inclusions ranged from 7% to 15%, from 41% to 55%, from 10% to 21%, and from 0.3% to 3.1%, respectively. The maximum CaS content occurred at a distance of about one-quarter of the surface layer in the thickness direction. Simultaneously, variation of non-metallic inclusions during solidification and cooling were calculated under different conditions of total oxygen content, total aluminum content, total magnesium content, total calcium content and total sulfur content.
