Innovative Water Leak Detection System for EAF Cooling Panels at Topy Industries Japan

Tenova Goodfellow Inc. (TGI) has developed an acoustic water leak detection technology. Topy Industries (Topy), a leading Japanese steelmaker with an integrated production facility, supplies a wide range of steel products to various industries. TGI and Topy are collaborating to integrate TGI’s acoustic water leak detection system into the cooling panels on Topy's EcoArc. Integrity of the cooling water circuits for any physical damage is imperative to operational risk management. This paper will describe the functionality of the acoustic system technology, installation details, commissioning steps and results achieved at Topy.
