Study of Slag Properties in Steel Dephosphorization in the EAF
The present paper aims to study, using industrial data, the influence of slag properties on EAF dephosphorization process. Different slags compositions were analyzed. The mentioned slag properties and phases were determined by computational thermodynamics using the software FactSage 8.0 and the results of these analyses was related to the dephosphorization efficiency. The desulfurization factor parameter was also used to measure the efficiency of these slags and had a high correlation with the efficiency (R2 = 0.8).
