NO SHOW: How to Increase Reformer Tube Efficiency
Improving efficiency of the reformer is key to the direct reduced iron industry. This presentation focuses on a new technology of reformer tubes, OMEGA, that allows a drastic increase of the flux gas temperature. The new technology study is based on CFD simulation and includes different catalysts and diffusers. It shows consistent significant heat transfer increase, of more than 10 kW, with gas temperature increase of more than 30°C. This technology therefore can inspire revamp experts to further push the production limits of the reformer furnaces.
