Nozzle, Skids and Demisters Have a Big Influence on the Cleaning Efficiency of Offgas Systems

In order to comply with the stricter environmental regulations, efficient cleaning of the process and waste gases is crucial. In this context, even small, cost-negligible components such as nozzles and separators play an important role, as they have a significant influence on trouble-free, low-maintenance production and environmental regulations. All furnaces have rapidly varying heat loads, this requires special spray performances in dry systems and good separation technology in wet systems to remove these liquids. This paper highlights a case where spray technology played a crucial role in solving mill’s persistent offgas cleaning issue.
