Predicting the Dissolved Oxygen in Steel by Using Quick Carbon Analyzer at Energy Optimizing Furnace
The dissolved oxygen in steel at the tapping stage directly affects the alloy recovery during subsequent processing and it deteriorates the cleanliness of the steel. It can be lowered but cannot be eliminated due to the tapping conditions and the specific requirements in the secondary refinements processes. The present work focuses on developing a thermodynamic equilibrium model to predict the dissolved oxygen present in the steel with the help of o-nline carbon analyzer. A Microsoft Excel-based model has been developed and adjusted based on the experiment data. A new set of data were checked to assess the model predictions.
