From Data to Decision: Integrated Production Management and Through-Process Quality Control for Optimized Steel Production


Modern steel production demands both optimization of individual units and seamless integration. Production management systems (MES) coordinate operations from order entry to shipment, while Through-Process Quality Control (TPQC) ensures compliance with stringent standards. Integrating real-time quality data and decision-making from TPQC into production management enables proactive deviation handling, reduces rework and improves first-pass yield. Immediate feedback loops and smart intralogistics further enhance efficiency and shorten cycle times. This paper presents a comprehensive integration framework, illustrating how a unified ecosystem for production, logistics, and quality control can ensure product quality, optimize operations and advance operational excellence through implemented use cases.
