A Condition-Based Maintenance Framework for Asset Performance Management: Bridging ISO 17359 and ISO 55000 for Industrial Sustainability
This paper presents a condition-based maintenance (CBM) framework integrated within an asset performance management (APM) system, aligning ISO 17359 guidelines for condition monitoring with the ISO 55000 family of asset management standards. The framework establishes a structured methodology for asset criticality assessment, data-driven diagnostics and predictive interventions, while ensuring governance, risk, and value alignment across the asset life cycle. By embedding CBM into the APM framework, organizations can transform monitoring data into actionable insights, enhancing reliability, optimizing O&M costs, and supporting sustainable value creation for industrial operations.
