Electrifying Steelmaking: Performance Breakthroughs With EAFs Using Real Preheating and High-Power Technologies


Primetals Technologies presents the EAF Ultimate and EAF Quantum for sustainable steelmaking. The EAF Ultimate offers high-power input, full raw material flexibility and simplicity, positioning it as a viable BOF converter replacement. Complementing this, the EAF Quantum has set a new global benchmark with 50 heats per day and tap-to-tap times under 28 minutes. Innovations such as the hydrogen burner for fossil-free melting, the Active Power Feeder for dynamic grid control, and the automated slag door for safer operation further enhance performance and reduce operating costs.
