Advancements in eHRC (endless Hot Rolled Coil) Production — The First American Arvedi ESP Line
The Arvedi ESP2100 line, designed by Primetals Technologies and installed at Big River Steel – A U. S. Steel Co., marks a significant milestone in steelmaking. The line is the first zero-emissions casting and rolling plant in the United States. It is designed to have an annual capacity of 3.0 million metric tons (3.3 million short tons) of high-quality, ultrathin to half-inch strip with a maximum strip width of 1,956 mm (77 inches). In particular, it can produce third-generation advanced high-strength steels, which combine strength, formability and weight reduction while setting new standards for efficiency and precision.
