European Steel Research – The Success Story of ESTEP

The European Steel Technology Platform (ESTEP) has evolved into the communication and dissemination platform for steel research in Europe. ESTEP started in 2004 and became a legal entity in 2018. Since then, its membership and outreach has significantly increased. The presentation will outline the success story of the association. The in-kind contributions of its members allow a very active networking organized by seven working groups. Main outcomes are technical conferences, collaborative research project proposals, position papers and work toward standardization. Since 2021, ESTEP is also facilitating the private side of the public-private partnership Clean Steel.
