Application of Time-Resolved Fluorescence Imaging for Visualization of Metallurgical Phenomena
A time-resolved fluorescence imaging technique using a fluorescence microscope to visualize metallurgical phenomena has been developed. The microsegregation and precipitation of inclusions has been observed with a transparent organic substance as a model material near room temperature. A simultaneous pH and Ca2+ imaging during the dissolution of CaSiO3 into aqueous solution has been demonstrated by a fluorescence microscopy. Details of the real -ime observation technique and the observed results will be presented.
