A Comprehensive Blast Furnace Audit Program for Promoting Green Steel
Global awareness of carbon emissions has pressured the iron and steel industries to reduce CO2 emissions. Conventional blast furnaces must undergo audits to identify improvement areas, optimizing performance and limiting greenhouse gas emissions. The audit should cover refractory lining, cooling systems, tuyere performance, structural integrity, furnace stability, raw material selection, operational efficiency and overall campaign performance. The primary goal is to enhance energy efficiency, reduce emissions, improve resource utilization and implement best practices in the ironmaking industry. This paper discusses the audit program's components and its benefits.
