Automatic Scrap Bucket Charging in EAF

Steel manufacturers are constantly facing the need to improve productivity level while guaranteeing a safe working environment. In the recent past, with the target of standardizing the electric arc furnace scrap charging cycle by predefining cranes routes, and reducing the inefficiencies of the crane manual driving during the scrap charging process execution, Danieli has upgraded an existing charging crane to full automatic mode, achieving also the result of removing crane operators from the on-board cabin and improving operators’ working environment.
