  • From Operator to Supervisor: Digitalization for a Safer and Human-Centric Steel Industry

From Operator to Supervisor: Digitalization for a Safer and Human-Centric Steel Industry

Robotics and automation are pivotal in advancing Industry 4.0, integrating cutting-edge technologies with innovative artificial intelligence algorithms to enable autonomous operations. These advancements optimize production, enhance quality, and improve operator safety and well-being. However, the complexity of steel production presents significant challenges to implementing Industry 4.0 effectively. This paper explores methods to upgrade existing steel mills, focusing on enhancing operator safety, productivity and quality. By combining advanced robotics with artificial intelligence and machine learning algorithms, steel mills can achieve fully automated operations with continuous performance improvements.
