Innovative Reversing Mill Technologies for High-Quality Thin-Gauge NGO Electrical Steels
The cold rolling process for high-grade electrical steels is challenging due to the material’s hardness, brittleness and thinness. Achieving optimal quality in thickness, flatness, surface and magnetic properties requires advanced technologies and equipment. This paper discusses operational results and innovative equipment highlights from a newly installed 2-stand reversing cold mill, specifically designed for thin-gauge non-grain oriented electrical steels. The innovative technologies and advanced automation solutions integrated into this mill ensure stable, reliable and high-quality production, meeting stringent automotive standards. The findings highlight the mill’s high productivity and its capability to consistently deliver superior product quality while maintaining energy-efficient operations.
