Techniques for NOx Reductions on Steel Plate Heat Treatment
With several rules coming into force this year, nitric oxide (NOx) emissions are garnering further scrutiny from direct-fired combustion applications in the steel industry. Diffuse mode combustion (DMC) can be applied to high-velocity cold air burners to lower the NOx in high-temperature applications. Two heat treat applications will be discussed installed at steel producers: a continuous roller hearth furnace and batch car bottom furnace. Both installations have been installed and started with field data that will be presented.
